These microcontrollers feature an 8-bit CPU, I/O ports, timers, a serial interface, A/D converters, interrupt control
circuits.
The
μ
PD78F9177Y differs from the
μ
PD789176Y and
μ
PD789177Y in that it uses flash memory rather than internal
masked ROM.
Flash memory can be written or erased electrically without having to remove it from board. Therefore, the
μ
PD78F9177Y is best suited for prototypes in system development, low-volume production, or systems likely to be
upgraded frequently.
The functions of these microcontrollers are described in the following user’s manuals. Refer to these
manuals when designing a system based on any of these microcontrollers.
