800 & 900/1800, 1900 & UMTS Cross-Band Coupler
Outdoor Full Band, Long Neck Connectors
REMEC, Inc. sales@remec.com www.remec.com
The REMEC range of Multi-Band filters are part of a complete antenna line
solution for site optimization. With the overlay of 850 MHz cellular,
GSM900, GSM1800, PCS1900, and UMTS systems, base station co-siting
with use of a common feeder cable is often required. The REMEC Diplexer
allows the single feed outputs from GSM900 and UMTS base stations or
850 MHz and 1800/1900 MHz base stations to be combined onto a single
feeder cable. At the antenna end a reciprocal unit is used to separate the
bands into the TMA and antennae as required. The most common option
has DC bypass fitted to the high frequency path so that a TMA can be
installed at the antenna and powered/alarm monitored by conventional DC
feed up the feeder cable. DC bypass can also be fitted to the other path to
enable the supply and control of multiple TMAs using an ALP Universal
Controller. See product code information for bypass options.
In many cases the Diplexer is used to add a UMTS base station to an
existing GSM900 site or a 1800/1900 MHz base station to an existing
850MHz cellular site.
The Diplexer must offer minimal loading to the
existing optimized systems by providing low insertion loss, high inter-band
isolation and low passive intermodulation. Power handling is also an
important criteria since the outputs from multiple base stations are being
combined. The REMEC Diplexer utilizes stripline filter technology for
optimum performance. The filters are optimized for low insertion loss,
power handling and full band operation. Custom units have been made for
partial band operation that can allow smaller overall size and tailoring to
individual mechanical requirements.
This Diplexer can be fitted to existing 850 MHz cellular or GSM900 base
station sites to allow future upgrading to GSM1800, PCS1900, or UMTS
systems. A full range of Dual Band Diplexers and Multi-Band Triplexers are
also available.
