Enhanced IBM-Type Cabling System
Patch Cords / Cable Assemblies
Patch Cords. The enhanced patch cord has an Enhanced Data
Connector on each end and utilizes the new Type 6A cable. These cords
can be used to make moves and changes at the distribution patch panel,
or as an extension cable in the work areas.
PC Adapter Cable. Type 6A cable with an Enhanced Data Connector on
one end and a 9 pin D-sub connector on the other. These cords can be
used in the work area in Token Ring applications to connect information
outlets to workstations.

Patch Panels
Data Connector distribution panels for the IBM-Type cabling system and
Token Ring networks were traditionally metal panels. Because of the
new global EMI requirements, the enhanced cabling system patch panels
are non-metallic. Designed similarly to the metallic panel with rear
grounding towers and strain relief, the non-metallic panels offer superior
isolation between connectors, which helps provide an improved data
path.
