The Elcon CROWN CLIP
is a compact, high-
current socket connector
designed to
accommodate standard
flat rectangular output
tabs for use in true hot
plug, blind mate bus bar
power supply and
switching power supply
applications. The parallel
cantilever design of the
contacts, together with an
insulation housing free to
float, provides a small
amount of gatherability
for blind mating in even
the deepest rack.
High-performance Elcon Crown Band
At the heart of the CROWN CLIP is the
Crown Band, Elcon's high-performance
contact element that ensures low voltage
drop and heat generation, plus consistent
insertion and extraction forces.
Float mount socket design
CROWN CLIP has a float mount socket
design that provides alignment for
superior blind mating of rack-mounted
power supply units.

Safety regulatory agency compliance
CROWN CLIP has been evaluated and
found to comply with the UL1977 standard
and the CSA standard C22.2 No. 182.3-
M1987. Elcon will work with customers to
obtain application-specific regulatory
certifications if needed.
True hot plug for
current interruption
CROWN CLIP also complies
with the safety regulatory requirements for
current interruption applications. Current
interruption ratings are 100A at 48V and
200A at 42V, both using a gold-plated
solid tab.
