Epoxy and Polish Connectors
Corning Cable Systems’ epoxy and polish product line includes a full line of single-mode and multimode epoxy and polish con-
nectors for factory installation. We offer a wide range of connector styles, hardware, and boot options. Pre-radiused and angled
ferrules are also available.
Corning Cable Systems’ new composite multimode ferrule offers excellent performance at a very low price. The redesigned fer-
rule allows easier fiber entry. It has the lowest material cost available. The standard multimode zirconia ceramic ferrule has a
radiused end-face to allow physical contact (PC) polishing.
The hardware on the ST compatible connector is available in either composite thermoplastic or metal. Both feature a closed
keyway design allowing the connector to far exceed performance specifications for tensile strength. The SC connector features a
shroud that is duplexable with a simple clip. The FC and SC connectors have non-optical disconnect features. All connectors are
pre-assembled for easy installation.
For Super or Ultra PC, the single-mode zirconia ceramic ferrule has a radiused end-face to allow physical contact (PC) polishing.
A consumables kit and procedure are available for hand-polishing to a Super PC finish, yielding a reflectance of -40 dB typical.
Ultra PC (-55 dB) may be achieved by using our automatic polisher, the SP500. For angled PC, the FC and SC are available.
The ferrule is pre-angled and must be polished with Corning Cable Systems’ SP500 automatic polisher. A typical reflectance of
-65 dB is achievable with this process.
