Epoxy and Polish Fiber Optic Connectors
ST Compatible, FC, and SC Single-Mode Ceramic, Preradiused
and Angled Ferrules, Bulk Packaged for Factory Installation
Description
Corning Cable Systems’ epoxy and polish product line
includes a full line of single-mode epoxy and polish
connectors for factory installation. We offer a wide range of
connector styles, hardware, and boot options. Preradiused and
angled ferrules are also available.
The SC connector is designed to meet the TIA/EIA-568A
standard and features a blue shroud that is duplexable with a
simple clip.
The FC connector conforms to the JIS C-5970 standard and
has a non-optical disconnect feature. In addition, it is
pre-assembled for easy installation.
For Super or Ultra PC, the single-mode zirconia ceramic
ferrule has a radiused end-face to allow physical contact (PC)
polishing. A consumables kit and procedure is available for
hand-polishing to a Super PC finish, yielding a reflectance
of -40 dB typical. Ultra PC (-55 dB) may be achieved by using
our automatic polisher, the SP500.
For angled PC, the FC and SC are available. The ferrule is
pre-angled and must be polished with Corning Cable Systems’
SP500 automatic polisher. Return loss of -65 dB typical is
achievable with this process.
Our connectors have an added feature – a jacket retention
crimp ring. A one-step crimp on the aramid yarn crimp ring
captures a portion of the jacket as well as provides for a more
aesthetically pleasing look to the assembly. Choices for boot
size and color also allow custom assemblies for product
differentiation.
