DESCRIPTION
FC15A140 is part of the FingerChip
T TCS monolithic finger-
print sensor family for which no optics, no prism and no light
source are required.
FC15A140 is a single chip, high performance, low cost sensor
based on temperature physical effects for fingerprint sensing.
FC15A140 has a linear shape, allowing the capture of a finger-
print image by sweeping the finger across the sensing area.
After capturing several images, TCS proprietary software can
reconstruct a full fingerprint image, if needed.
FC15A140 has a small surface combined with CMOS technol-
ogy, and ceramic dual–in–line package assembly. These three
facts contribute to a low cost device. A Chip On Board package
is under study for very high volume applications.
FC15A140 delivers a programmable number of images per
second, and a programmable output gain. Moreover, TCS pro-
vides an 8 bit Analog to Digital Converter adapted to the
device. Thus, no frame grabber is necessary to send the
images to a microprocessor. These three facts make
FC15A140 an easy device to include in any system for authen-
tication or verification applications.

H Die size : 2.41 mm X 17.00 mm = 40.97 mm2.
H Power consumption : 50 mW @ 5v, 4 MHz, 25_C
H DIL 20 ceramic package, with specific protective layer.
H Operating temperature range: 0°C to +70°C : C suffix.
