Functional Description
Figure 2 provides a block diagram of the L64020's major functional units.
An overview of the major functions of the L64020 is included in the
following paragraphs.
Video and Audio Decoding
The L64020 can decode separate video and audio elementary streams,
A/V Packetized Elementary Stream (PES) streams for one program (from
transport decoders), and program PES streams containing audio, video,
and private 1 and 2 streams. In addition, the PES decoding can parse
critical headers for Presentation Time Stamp (PTS) and Decoding Time
Stamp (DTS) information needed for video and audio synchronization.
