IF AGC
IF AGC filter connection. The AGC voltage is created
at pin 7, which is the output from the internal AGC
detector peak detection signal. Additionally, this IC
integrates a second AGC filter (a lag-lead filter) that
is used to create a double time constant internally to
the IC. A 0.022
F external capacitor (C1) is used.
The value of this capacitor must be adjusted based
on an analysis of the sag, AGC speed, and other
circuit characteristics.

1st SIF IN
First SIF input. A DC cut capacitor must be used with
this input circuit.
a. If a SAW filter is used
The first SIF sensitivity can be increased by inserting
an inductor between the SAW filter and the IC input
to match the SAW filter output capacitance and the
IC input capacitance.
b. If used with an intercarrier
This pin must be connected to ground through a
capacitor.

RF AGC OUT
RF AGC output. This output controls the tuner RF
AGC. This is an open collector output with a 100
protective resistor. Determine the value of the
external bleeder resistor according to the tuner
specifications.

AFT OUT
AFT output. The AFT center voltage is created by an
external bleeder resistor. Increasing the value of this
external bleeder resistor will increase the AFT gain.
Note, however, that the value of this resistor must
not exceed 390k
. This circuit includes a function
that controls operation so that the AFT voltage goes
to the center voltage during weak field reception.
