800/1900 Cross-Band Coupler
Outdoor, Full Band, Long Neck Connectors
REMEC, Inc. sales@remec.com www.remec.com
The REMEC range of Cross-Band Couplers are part of a complete antenna
line solution for site optimization. With the overlay of 850 MHz cellular,
PCS1900 and/or UMTS1900 systems, base station co-siting with use of a
common feeder cable is often required. The REMEC Coupler allows the
single feed outputs from 850 MHz and 1900 MHz base stations to be
combined onto a single feeder cable. At the antenna end a reciprocal unit
is used to separate the bands to TMAs and antennae as required. The most
common option has DC bypass fitted to the high frequency path so that a
TMA can be installed at the antenna and powered/alarm monitored by
conventional DC feed up the feeder cable. DC Bypass can also be fitted to
the other path to enable the supply and control of multiple TMAs using an
ALP Universal Controller. See product code information for bypass options.
In many cases the Coupler is used to add a 1900 MHz base station to an
existing 850 MHz cellular site. The Coupler must offer minimal loading to
the existing optimzed systems by providing low insertion loss, high
interband isolation and low passive intermodulation. Power handling is also
an important criteria since the outputs from multiple base stations are being
combined. The REMEC Coupler utilizes stripline filter technology for
optimum performance. The filters are optimized for low insertion loss,
