is important that the LO buffer is already tuned and finalized
before attempting to match the RF input. Also, the LO needs
to be turned ON during the measurements.
Finally, the filter is added and the OIP3 is measured. OIP3
should be greater than 17dBmfor Idds greater than 10mA. If
it is not, then filter interaction is a problemand a different type
of RF input matching network must be used.

For example, when the TQ5M34 was first powered up on the
evaluation board, the RF input matching network of Figure 9-B
was used. An excellent match to 50ohms was obtained with
reasonable component values. OIP3 was measured to be
around 19dBmin the WCDMA band. Then the filter was
added and it was found that the OIP3 dropped down to
14dBm Finally, via experimentation, it was found that match
C also gave good RF input return loss while not degrading
OIP3.
Redo GIC Components:
After matching the RF input and adding the SAW filter to the
circuit, most likely Idd will have changed substantially. On the
evaluation board Idd decreased by 50%, so the GIC resistor
had to be almost halved to bring current up to around 10mA.
Double Check IF Match:
After any change which affects IF stage current it is important
to recheck the IF output match. This is especially true when
matching down to 50ohms, since the match is more sensitive.
A match to a 1000ohmfilter will not be as sensitive. The LO
must be turned ON during the test.
