An excessive exposure of laboratory animals results in toxic
effects on the kidney and the liver.. Blood disorder may occur
after prolonged inhalation.. Methylene chloride is not believed to
pose a measureable carcinogenic risk to humans, when handled
as recommended.
Methylene chloride has been shown to increase the rate of
spontaneously occurring tumours in the B6C3F1 mouse and
benign tumours in laboratory rats.
