line is not used as a clock for any register here. The bidirec-
tional MultiMediaCard bus lines
&0'
and
'$7
are split up in unidirectional signals. Driver mode
and direction control signals are additional to the standard MultiMediaCard bus. They can be used
for the controlling of pads or some other control logic involved with the MultiMediaCard bus lines.

The power management unit has control over the power supply lines of the MultiMediaCard bus.
The application can access this unit via special CAM commands. With these commands the power
supply of the MultiMediaCard stack can be controlled and the MultiMediaCard bus can be powered-
up, -down or reset. The unit is controlled by the rcif_power_cmd and rcif_power_en signals.
The following commands are interpreted by the power management unit:
The MultiMediaCard bus interface (rosa_if) of the adapter stops all activity during power-down until
a power-up command is received.
The reset_n signal resets the vpp_out and vdd_out signals to their inactive state. It is derived from
the host master reset. This signal is typically applied at the system power-on reset. After that reset
the output pins stay inactive until the application sends a new command.
The output ports vdd_out and vpp_out are control signals for a power supply unit. They are not con-
nected to the actual MultiMediaCard bus lines
9''
and
933
. They are active high, meaning a ‘1’ on
these lines turn on the corresponding power supply; respectively a ‘0’ shuts the power off. The sup-
ply enable outputs are connected to power switches, which may be on or off the same device as the
power management unit:
