5.13.6 Performance Monitoring Registers 8 and 9 (0x39, 0x3A)
These are two 8-bit wide, read-only registers.
VBERC
Viterbi Bit Error Rate Count
D[7:0] R
This register presents the Viterbi decoder bit count during
the time period specied by VMDC2, FEC parameter
register. The actual number of errors is equal to four
times VBERC.
VBERC is updated each time a Viterbi error is
encountered, and is reset at the beginning of each
VMDC2 period.
When the rst byte is read by the microprocessor, the
new VBERC value is downloaded and held during the
complete read access.
The initial value of VBERC is 0.

These are three 8-bit wide, read-only registers.
