2.9.5 Automatic Frequency Control (AFC) External Loop Filter
The control signal of the frequency loop drives the sigma-delta (
Σ/)
modulated output AFCOUT. Use the AFCOUT signal to drive an external
passive RC lter that feeds the timing clock control stage as shown in
Figure 2.5

The R and C values for the low-pass lter must meet the following
requirement:

2.10 Transmission Parameter Signal (TPS) Decoder
The transmission parameter signal (TPS) decoder takes the sequence of
complex numbers from the output of the FFT block and recovers the
transmission parameter signalling (TPS) data dened in paragraph 4.6 of
the
DVB-T/ETSI Specication. The block passes the resulting data to the
control logic of the L64781; thus, it congures the mode of operation of
much of the demodulator circuitry.
The TPS includes information on:
the modulation system
whether the transmission is hierarchical
if hierarchical, what the α value is
the inner code rate(s)
the guard interval
the mode (2 K or 8 K)
