Description
The L84302 is an Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC) for 100 and
10 Mbps applications. The device integrates four independent channels
on one IC.
The L84302 contains flow control for both full and half-duplex operation.
Full duplex flow control is implemented per IEEE 802.3x; half-duplex flow
control is collision based. For both cases, the flow control messages can
be sent automatically without any host intervention.
The L84302 has a set of management counters that complies completely
with the management objectives of the RMON Statistics Group, SNMP
Interfaces group, IEEE 802.3 Ethernet, and Ethernet-Like MIB.
The L84302 is ideal as an Ethernet controller for Ethernet switch ports,
uplinks, backbones, and other embedded applications.
